Home...............

Its funny how we can be unhappy in our apartment but go away for a few days and it still feels wonderful to be back home! Why is that? :) It was a heck of a trip with nothing fun planned , just medical visits. We drove down Tues.....you know we hardly ever turn the radio on when we travel....do you? We talk and talk and talk and point things out to each other.......the topics of conversation are wide and varied..........this trip ( you may think us a little odd here if you don't already lol) we spent many happy miles debating the differences between crows and ravens! We kept our eyes open for them going down the road and hubby googled it while i drove and this is what we found out........( yes i like to share my useless knowledge Ha! aren't you lucky!) Well.....ravens are much larger than crows.......they also have a ruff around their necks and alltogether look a little scruffier than crows.......If you catch them in flight....a crows tail will look like it was cut straight across while a raven's tail will look like a wedge........a crows beak , the top and bottom are even and come to a nice little point, the raven's , the top is longer than the bottom and the top has a nice little bump in it.......a crow makes a 'caw...caw...' sound and rocks back and forth if its on the ground, a raven......i don't know how to describe it but its totally different.........when a crow lands it does a lot of fidgeting and fussing a raven just 'bam' lands and sits still.........crows are more social and you will more often find them in town, ravens just the opposite they both however are very intelligent..........Now if you can........picture us going down the road saying " theres a crow!", then" NO thats a raven, crow....raven...crow"....yeah it was a blast! Then we talk about the upcoming election and the boobs we have to choose from.........count the cars on trains.........tell childhood stories and hubby's army stories that constantly get recycled and i never get tired of hearing them......... Wednesday we went for the rounds of post -op necessities and he had his elbow (which has been driving him up the wall) checked out........they gave him a couple shots of cortisone in there and he says it feels great. They also gave him an arm band thats suppose to be for tennis elbows. Well he's suppose to wear it while driving since we think that is whats aggravating it. Then Thursday was the operation..........i've never seen him more nervous...........it was rather disconcerting for me as hes such a strong person. I think he was worried more than anything that it will not fix the problem or even worse that his knee will be worse off than before the surgery..... But i kissed him and squeezed his hand and they wheeled him away.......He had a wonderful older doctor , a Dr. Rock, who after the surgery SAT DOWN in the waiting room with me and showed me pictures of the knee and explained things to me.............turns out the knee was not half bad.......they cleaned up a little arthritis and tightened the meniscus in the back of the knee and trimmed it.........he's recovering very well, moving it and walking on it which i know is great relief to hubby...........But the doctor wasn't finished with us yet...............he went on to explain that the burning sensation in the knees that hubby complains of is most likely a symptom of diabetes...................................this post is getting rather long so i'll tell you more the next time we visit............hubs is trying to come to terms with this revelation...........Thanks so much to those of you who dropped me a line asking how the surgery went , i'm sorry i didn't post sooner, things have been a little crazy with the unloading the truck and lugging it all upstairs and putting stuff away........and then the house didn't have any groceries ...so off i go..........finally all caught up...ooops well.....i still need to do laundry......will you come lug it to the laundry mat for me???LOL! How i miss my washer and dryer.........

So glad surgery went well! You might be interested to know hubby and I were discussing the difference between swans and geese yesterday - LOL! Anyway, I hope your hubby realizes that diabetes is nothing to play with and now it's time he address his health issues and take better care of himself!! I hope this is a turning point and fuels you both into a joint focus and plan of action!

Well, I think you will BOTH be more focused on stronger health now. Sometimes it takes an explosion.

Terry and I never have the radio on when we are in the car together. Its annoying and we are like you and your husband. We relish the quiet time together to just enjoy each other's company and talk.

I love crows. They ARE smart and predictable and really cool to observe. If I ever owned a business, I'd call it Three Crows..there are always at least three. If you only see one, or two, look around. There are always three and each has its own assigned task.

Its always good to be home. Back to your hive. Return to the nest.
xx, Carol

Love the peacock you did..Thanks for visiting my blog and hte lovely comment. Sounds like you have a good time traveling with your hubby discussing the birds and all. We have lots of crows visiting us daily. They love the bread I throw out. So I know what you mean about them being social. :)

Your peacock is beautiful. They are so popular right now too. I have a few jewelry pieces in my shop that are peacock inspired. I would love for you to share your talents at my weekly Friday - Monday linky. Anything goes, come strut your stuff.
