A Reveal.........

.............of sorts..........times like this i wish i was more computer literate. Finally here is a picture of the castle that turned into a mushroom.......when i started i was positive this was going to be a castle on a rocky bluff and i was going to show all the rock layers and sediment well.......then i gave it a round door...........i love round doors......i would love to have a round door in a whimsical house i designed myself..........then the word Hobbit door popped in my head and would not leave and no matter how i lightly sketched and sketched trying to create a castle it would not come into being.....it was just not right......a family member after looking at it said that it looked like a hobbit door and i was like whoa....you see it too?? So i erased all the castle and tried to draw a hill over it ....you know with grass on it......maybe some flowers......well that wasn't working either....i was just about to put it away for a rainy day when i thought MUSHROOM.......
~
~ so i lightly sketched a mushroom top on it and erased....tried again....erased......you know mushrooms have very different tops...different personalities........all of a sudden i sketched one.....put my hands out and screamed .."NOBODY MOVE!!!'(well not really scream)..........it can feel like an electrical shock going thru your body when you KNOW you have it exactly right. But getting it exactly right is only half the story.......I knew i wanted my 'castle' to be BIG.....i wanted to draw it big so my mother in law who is an artist of her own.........gave me this huge pad of thick textured charcoal paper that was not white but a beige so thats what i used........problem with that is it wouldn't fit on our home scanner.....sigh......so off we went to OfficeMax.............it really goes to show how important it is to get a hold of knowledgeable person and you just never know when you go to these places........Okay so got it scanned......put on flash drive brought it home, brought it up on the computer and..........all the lines were broken .....a dashed look to it...OH NO!!!!!
~
~...........when you have struggled to carefully outline all your pencil lines with a marker....no wobbles....or mistakes.......and then to bring up a scan and all your lines are broken well.....its just a heartbreaking moment and the question comes to mind what if thats the best they can do??...maybe its the textured paper throwing it off.....what if we can't fix this........ So another trip to OfficeMax waiting to hear them tell me this is the best we can do when up walks Sandy...patient...kind .. KNOWLEDGEABLE Sandy........she figured it out......she even knew how to get rid of the beige.....woohoo!........so i got a good scan.......but when i tried to up load it to Blogger the image is really small........and i know there is a way to fix this but darn if i could figure it out......so Sandy had printed me a copy of the black and white image (non beige) so i took a picture of it with my camera and that is whats above..........whew..........Its not the best quality image but its not teeny tiny either and you can see the detail. After all that i'd love to know if you like it. I've been thinking of maybe a series of three mushrooms you know tall skinny, fat i don't know i just think i'd like to keep messing with the idea a while longer.......right now i'm working on that sketch of the owl in a tree i showed you a while back.......as much as i LOVE drawing and i'm so happy to have that back in my life i miss crafting and having all my supplies to just make and do what my little heart desires.......Thanks for stopping by! Hugs! deb

It is so fantastic. If someone clicks on the picture it gets large, but there is a setting on blogger that allows you to make the photos small, medium large or extra large. And to decided to left, center or right. I will look at blogger again since I am not using it now and send you an email. Can't wait to see you finish Frodo's house! xox
