My Lavender Wand...............

Still sifting thru the bazillion photos we took on vacation.... but i do have a little something to share that is not trip related......... I'm sure by now you have seen Lavender Wands either somewhere in Blogland or Pinterest..... Click here to see where i first came across the idea........ and there is a little tutorial. I just HAD to try this! I did not have the right Lavender in my yard but i finally came across some in a public park and picked a few....shhhh...... It has to be the Lavender with the long skinny tops not the big fat tops... English or Spanish Lavender i'm not sure which. And not fully open.....  It was a little rough getting started......felt like i needed an extra pair of hands so the ribbon looks a little rough there at the top . I had a little gem left over from another project so i glued it on there .  i LOVE how it turned out and definitely plan on trying some more of these. They smell heavenly.

Here is one photo from the trip............what the heck is that?! My vote was for some type of starfish..........hubby says jelly fish.... Definitely had a jelly type consistency to it but all those arms looked starfishy to me....... We had a blast beach combing.....stay tuned........Hugs! deb

I have never made a lavender wand, but I think they make awesome prettiers for clothes drawers. I have one plant of lavender that gives me loads of lavender sprigs-I collect quite a few and use them on top of my lavender soap packages.
what a really pretty fish-I wonder what he is-I would go for the jelly fish too although I have only seen clear white ones when I lived on the beach in nc years and years ago-lol

I've never tried to make a lavender wand either and I'm not sure I'm co-ordinated enough to do so. How unco-ordinated am I you ask - I once lost my balance in a exercise class and took out an entire row of ladies. One by one they went down as they knocked into each other. I think I'll just seeing yours!

I vote jelly fish too.

I love lavender wands, but this year I will not be having any. My lavender plants did not survive this hard winter we had. They were over ten years old too. I might buy some next year to replace them.

You have made a beautiful lavender wand. My lavender never made it long enough to get wands.

Thank you for joining us for T this week. We usually feature some type of drink, but this is a lovely post and a beautiful wand. Can't say the same for the jelly fish (grin).

Hi Deb, welcome to T Stands for Tuesday.

I used to grow lavender, but never made wands with it, really a cool idea.
Happy T-day

Hi Deb
You did a great job on your lavender wand and know I would be all thumbs and couldn't do it myself!
Hugs, Lynnie

Hello and welcome to T time. What a beautiful wand, my sister would love that and the lavender.

I'm not a fan of jelly fish but a start fish would be ok.

Have a nice day!

Hello and Happy T Day...
I look forward to Lavender wand making every June here in Virginia...imagine my surprise when I saw it was my post you linked :)
So happy you got the bug to try it and your wand is gorgeous!
Getting past the first couple of turns is the hardest part isn't it.
What an exotic creature that is...
I enjoy travel photos even when they are not my own.

I have a lavender bush but have never attempted making a wand with the sprigs. It's beautiful, and Patty is very inspiring with not just her wands but with all her beautiful art. That is some creature you came upon-I've never seen anything like it-fascinating! Glad you enjoyed your trip. Happy T day!

Hi Deb, I had never heard of a lavender wand until reading your post, and then checkign out Pinterest. So neat! Thanks for sharing. And I think your starfish blobby thing is pretty cool looking too. Although, I will say that someone once told me when I was in Japan and picked up a beatiful crab shell that the things that are the prettiest - are often the deadliest too!! : )

The wand looks pretty - not sure I could say that about the jellyfish thing-y, although I'm sure his mamma loves him! Have a great week, Chris # 14 x
