Still Here.................

The earthquake didn't even wake us up this morning....lol......... But it does have us looking at earthquake insurance....What i wanna know is how did USAA know the earthquake was coming ???? Just this week we received something in the mail from them asking us if we wanted earthquake insurance..... :)

Trouble is its not cheap....... and the deductible is HIGH...  They say only 12% of people in CA have earthquake insurance...... hmmmmm not sure what we will do yet.... but it takes an earthquake to get us thinking about it... Hugs! deb

Glad you are safe. I just turn the tv on and heard about it.

Perhaps, by the sheer law of averages, as you had an earthquake there should not be another for a while, so maybe you can risk it?

As a former insurance agent, I can sympathize with your dilemma. I would never advise customers, but I always told them it was available. We have had a few small quakes here. Nothing more than rattling glasses in the hutch. I can testify that it sure gives you goose bumps when you feel the earth move! Glad you are safe and no damage.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving the great comments. Glad to hear your husband was not hurt from the collision. And men have an attachment to their pickups. LOL. Earthquakes are happening in Oklahoma. But, I have never checked out the insurance for it. Thats terrible there, because you kinda expect one from time to time in California. Take care!

I've only felt one small tremor here in Ontario. I was sitting on the floor sorting out some paper and leaned against the wall just as it hit. I had no idea what it was at the time. The second time we had a tremor I was in the car so I didn't feel it. We only get very mild ones here (so far) and years apart so that's good - for us. I worry about all of you who live in Calf and up the coast into B.C. Canada

I can't believe that car was totaled. I remember when an accident like that could be fixed for next to nothing. Now, all the extras they add to the car, including the stuff that goes under the plastic is expensive. I remember a gal ran into me one year and the cost of the bumper area alone was over $2000.00. I couldn't believe the parts list I made them show/give me when I picked it up. Glad hubby was OK, though, at least after the hospital visit and time off work.

Sorry to read about your earthquake. I remember when I lived in MO in the late 80s, the insurance company wanted me to buy quake insurance and I wasn't even CLOSE to the fault line.

Thanks for sharing your week with us for T this Tuesday, and wish your hubby continued recovery.

see you there! said...

Sorry to hear your husband was involved in an accident. I had to look up where you live. We felt the earthquake quite clearly here by the Bay but of course nothing like the poor folks in Napa.

Fun that your art will be on a tee shirt.
