I Didn't Know............

You must be tired of Jinx related posts but such is life at the moment.... Arts and craftiness have left the building and our lives have become days of tearing out sheet rock and rewiring and making runs to the dump and in between are precious moments like this...............
Its a frog........... a resin frog that i had out in my garden in TX for a while... brought it inside to repaint and found that Jinx loved to rub on it now and then......SO... it stayed in the house instead of going back out to the garden...lugged it to CA and then to Arkansas...

Well a couple weeks ago i unpacked it and put it on the living room floor and called Jinx... He stepped sleepily out of the bedroom sat down and and contemplated actually coming when i called ( you know cats) when he spied the frog , he made a beeline for it... He greeted it like a long lost friend... like a piece of 'home' he desperately needed...

He rubbed all over it again and again,  and finally fell asleep with his head on the frogs feet..... Jinxy loves the frog..... I knew he liked the frog but no .... Jinxy looovess the frog.... I'll catch them now and then sharing a sun puddle for a nap...... If i knew just what good buddies they were i would have taken the frog with us in the pick up and put him in the laundry room with him for company.... I just didn't know..... just how much he cared for that resin frog...... Wish you could have been there as pictures just don't tell the story...

Joining Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday Tea Party! I have to make another run to the dump before it rains so i'll be around a little later to visit everyone! Big Hugs! deb

It's amazing what they can become attached to... but then, so can we. I'm go glad that Jinx is back with his frog. It is probably something familiar. If I've learned anything from years with cats, it's that they don't take to change easily. We had one that had a canniption if you even moved furniture around.

this is too sweet-glad you found out how much he loves his frog I was wondering if you were getting all this rain too-we are just way over the point of too much rain-everything around us is flooding now and another huge storm with inches coming in later today-ugh enough is enough-so unusual for this area too

How funny. You won't believe this but I have that frog except he is sitting holding the lily pad. I love frogs and never saw one I didn't like! I'll have to look back on my blog to see if I have a pic of him in one of the front yard pics. We have had such crappy weather, I don't think I put him out this year. Today's weather, rain and temps, are supposed to be October weather. What a crock! Definitely not paint the deck or weeding weather. The TV just said it's 62 degrees and its 12:30 PM.

Anyway, I'm glad Jinx loves the frog!!
xx, Carol

Awww! You just never know with cats. He may have ignored it in the laundry room. You never know. So glad he's adjusted to the move. Miss Karma is stressed out just from the packing. Barfing and she has licked half the hair off her stomach! She's never lived anywhere else that she probably remembers, so I hope she takes the move well. Poor Jinx. Give him an extra cuddle from me. Happy T-Day!

Moving always seems such a trauma for cats doesn't it - they seem more attached to places - how wonderful that cat and frog are reunited and it seems to have made such a difference.

I have just spent an hour and forty minutes trying to get back my internet. SO frustrating and NOT the day for this to happen.

I have two of those furry friends, and I am WELL aware of attachments. I remember when I first brought Squiggles home, he practically LIVED in his sandbox when he wasn't eating. I still catch him sitting in it for periods of time, especially after I clean it (which is daily, I might add). But he no longer tries to sleep in it, allowing interaction and sleeping time with me. He still won't interact with others, though, while Bleubeard has to be the center of attention and is the social Butterfly of this threesome (Bleubeard, Squiggles, and me).

So glad you learned a bit about Jinx. Now when you travel, you can add the frog to the sandbox and he will be very, very happy indeed. It's the buddy system if I ever heard of it (grin).

Thanks for sharing this (tail) tale with us for T this Tuesday. I really, really LOVE that mug. It is very artistic.

Your cat is such a character! Funny thing for a cat to love a resin frog that much but yes, your pictures tell the story for sure. No wonder you enjoy Jinnx so much.

see you there! said...

Never saw a cat in love with a frog before. Who knew? At least they are back together after their separation. Jinxy seems delighted. I can't tell how the frog feels about it. Must be the silent type, LOL!

Aw, that's a sweet story. One year my husband and I received a gift in a square box. As soon as we opened the gift, our old cat Shadow jumped in the box and started purring. She just loved sitting in that box. We kept it for the rest of her life, and she loved sitting in it, no matter where it was in the house. So I understand Jinx's attachment to her frog.

Good story Deb! LOL What a good fella Jinx is to remember his buddy, the frog, after such a long separation. The frog looks amused...I think...LOL

Thanks for taking the time away from your remodeling to make T-day rounds and for the comments.
