Evolution.........

New coffee cup found on sale at JoAnn's......!!

.......of the master bedroom.... Goodmorning my Tea People... I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on my 'Van Gogh' inspired MailArt PostCard last week... This road I'm traveling down learning how to paint with acrylics is long and shaky and your encouragement is priceless......... If you've been visiting the blog for a while now you may remember the sketch in the header.. but last time i posted it, it wasn't finished... now i can say 'I'm Done!  so i thought i'd show it again... Its another play on 'Boxes' like the one on my side bar with the owl...

This week has been all about working on the house...duh.... We put sheetrock on those areas i showed you last week ( the wall in the craftroom and the storage room) Now it has finally come to the part i haven't been looking forward to........ Up until this point the renovation really hasn't been in the part of the house where 'we live' .... ie... the master bedroom, bath and kitchen , dining, upstairs living room........ but now... thats all thats left...Sooo..... in the above picture you can see i got everything covered as best i could and Awaaaay we went..............

The rewiring ...done... tore out the sheetrock...see that window in the first pic??? the trailer was right outside that window so we got to just throw it out the window.. Was that ever SWEET! Its the only room we are able to do that way and i loved it... So much easier. I also got the ceiling popcorn scraped... we pulled out the old insulation and.....

.......put in new...... then the sheetrock had to be carried upstairs as that is staged in the craftroom....Boy! Old houses are NOT square! It can make putting up sheetrock very frustrating... But its done.. its in... Then everything had to be cleaned up before we could call it a day... after all we sleep there....Next we will tackle the walk in closet.... We are not changing anything in there just ripping out two walls in there and putting in new insulation and sheetrock... then on to the master bath... We are getting there... I still see forward progress and thats what matters...

The propane tank gets installed next week and our fireplace inserts come in October.... I can hardly wait... I've never had a fireplace before.......... :)    Truly its just for emergency use mostly .. incase the electric goes out this winter... and ofcourse the odd romantic evening......... or curled up with a book..........

I've been wanting to show this picture to you all summer... I thought it was such a cool recycle, reuse , repurpose idea.... We saw it hanging on the wall at the Habitat for Humanity store...... If you can't tell its made up of an old porch railing   and 4 old ceiling fan blades... Too big for the house but might be kinda cool on a fence... I think with a nice paint job it might be a nice idea....... Well Elizabeth and the Tea Gang thats about it for this week... Today is a trip to the metal scrap yard and one of the home improvement big box stores... then hubs is doing more sheetrock... (small pieces he can handle himself) and i'am on house work clean up duty... think dishes and laundry... run the vacuum... you know the everyday stuff that has to be kept up even in a construction zone....lol Have a wonderful week!!! Hugs! deb

I applaud all the work you two are getting accomplished. can you even imagine the price tag if you had to pay someone to do all this hard work-and it never ends up being as good as we can do ourselves.
You will enjoy using your fireplace-we are still waiting to get our gas furnace hooked up-it's turned hot again this week so since the work is in the attic they will wait til cooler-but we will still use our wood stoves-so cozy and warmer too.
It always amazes me what people create from recycle materials-love it.
and I really love your latest work with the kitties
hugs Kathy

I love cats and birds and trees, so I love your new header!
Remodeling is so much work--sweat equity, as they say. It is going to be so nice when it's all done.
I like the giant dragonfly. Yes, all it would need is a pretty paint job and a big spot to perch. ;)
Happy T-Day! :)

WOW, You have done alot of work. I know exactly what you mean about old houses and not square. Makes you wonder, did they not use a square at all back then. HA! HA!

Look at you go on the house renovations-you make me very tired!! Such wonderful progress. We have an old house and hubby has mumbled some choice words about things being square or even:) Love your unique "boxes" art! That beautiful sunflower mug and backdrop remind me of Tuscany...oh and that dragonfly art-so cool! Happy T day deb!

Wow..more sheetrocking! Love the dragonfly. I've seen one on pinterest before...would definitely look cool on a fence or shed.

Wellllll, girlfriend, looks like your rounding the bend of getting it done. No old houses are no longer square, they sag and adjust.....kinda like me....sagging and adjusting...LOL

I got your PC yesterday and it WAS raining......ok sprinkling.....but it was off and on all day and enough to get the sidewalks wet each time!!!

I LOVE the PC, that bright blue butterfly really stands out on the background.

Happy T-day and your stamps went into the mail this morning....

Seems like you are making real progress now! We have a fireplace insert that we connected to propane just in case also. Love the dragonfly fan and it would also look great on a porch ceiling!

You are making great progress on your house. Good for you guys. What an undertaking though. Wow, all that ripping out...I think it would be easier to just build a new house...but old houses have such charm.

Love your header. Glad you still have a little "art" time.

You are a MACHINE. I don't see how you get so much done each week. I love that you are doing it all yourself. Beautiful updated photos, too.

I've never owned a new home, so I can also attest to the fact that there are no square corners anywhere.

Golly, both Bleubeard and Squiggles give your new painting four paws up. I bet Jinx is liking it, too.

Your new mug is really lovely. I like it, and it seems to fit your lifestyle, too. Thanks for updating us on the remodel and sharing your new mug with us for T this Tuesday.

BTW, you may not have read about Darla’s home in the mountains. I saw video yesterday about the area. Her home there is completely gone, ravaged by fire. That’s one of the reasons why she didn’t share T with us this week. She was there when the fires started in that area, so was very lucky to get out.

Deb, you know I'm a dog person but I really want to stitch your banner picture. I love that you left it black and white. It's stunning!

I love the Habitat Store...we recently bought a storm door for the back porch Terry is enclosing. $50 for a older, very well made, very sturdy storm door. I could find nothing like it in current designs at Menard's or Lowes.

Hey Deb,,Have a great day!!
xx, Carol
