This is a Fly By...........

No matter how crazy things are at the moment i just could not let another week go by with out raising my coffee cup to all my Tea People and all my friends who pop in to see how i'm doing and what i'm up to...  psssst.... i'm working on the house... lol Above are my two favorite coffee cups at the moment...  Does your favorite coffee or tea cup change with your mood??

And ........ ofcourse its not ALL about the house as i have to have my sketching to help me keep my sanity in all this chaos...

I hope you all remember the Om Dragon...Well i just could not leave well enough alone and continued to fiddle with him in my sketch book...lol  You can click on him to enlarge if you like.. I have just begun to blend everything with Gamsol and i'll show you that when finished.......

Disclaimer:   I have no idea how to draw people or faces..But i want to...... I'd like to... I'm figuring it out as i go along and this is one of the girls on my journey....

I couldn't resist showing you again just how lovely the Gamsol brings out the colored pencils.... I use Prismacolor and a black Pitt pen for this drawing... incase you are wondering......

In the header you will find the finished piece with the blue background... I used a cookie cutter to trace out the leaves...lol

I wanted to show you  the Spooky postcards i sent out for Halloween!  This is cereal box chipboard that i first used gesso then acrylic paint for the background... I found these fabulous velvety stickers at Target for like $1 ... And boy do they stick...those suckers are never coming off.... The moon is just a circle i cut out and dabbed on a little grey acrylic paint and then a light wash of thinned white acrylic paint on top of the gray . I was pretty happy with how the moon turned out and the shading of the blue background...

I wanted to leave you with a smile... We saw this a while back while driving thru town... made me smile...lol  I hope to get back to you soon with a house update and pictures......  Hugs! deb

More great art from you! I have seen bikes in the drive through too! Time is marching on. It's November 2 and before you know it, you'll be sketching Turkeys.

Have a great week Deb. I'll love to see more of what you are doing in the house.

Good morning, I always enjoy seeing your art work and that last photo had me smiling too-I have been having creative urges too, but I need to put that on hold til I get the house ready for "deer camp" that starts on the 14th.
I am taking advantage of this fabulous warm weather and cleaning up my garden space. Have an awesome new week

I like the face very much. I had to look up, on You Tube, how to start faces, when I had the GDs here this summer. Very helpful and really jogged my memory......ya know how this age thing makes memories stick!!

Glad to see you are using your art for some creative outlet from hanging sheet rock.....*grin*

Love the dragon!!!

Love your mugs! We are mug people too so I always notice them. The Ohm dragon is delightful. Love it and your other art work as well. The bats were a nice find for sure. Love the postcards. I still have the two postcards you sent me sitting on my computer desk. There is no way they are going anywhere else.

This is a great face, and of course so much better than anything I could draw since I can't draw anything. I like how you used the colored pencils, and am wondering if the gamsol would set pan pastels, since I'm always smudging them. I read somewhere awhile back, it will set the pencils you used. I don't have any, but I have turpinoid which I thought was similar since it's a mineral spirit, too.

I adore the postcards you sent. I bet they are flying all over the world bringing joy to lots of people right now.

Unfortunately, when I am working in the studio or craft room, I have my very ugly Wichita State mug that has a lid to keep messes contained. I dipped a paint brush in my coffee once and decided I would NEVER again do that. However, I certainly think these cups are very appropriate for the season, and I like both.

Thanks for sharing your gorgeous art AND your favorite mugs with us for T this Tuesday, dear Deb. Glad to see you were able to spend a few minutes with us this week. I missed you last week.

I find I rotate my collection seasonally...so many cups hah
Your artwork is all super!!!
Those velvet bats on your cool cards begged to be touched I'm sure.
Wishing you a Happy T Day oxo

For someone who does not know how to do it, you draw very fine faces! I have never heard of Gamsol, have to check that out. Happy T-Day!

Hello and happy T Day! Nice that you can stop in to visit with your fun mugs! Your face is beautiful, the words are good, need to remember that myself! How fun your bat cards are!
thanks for sharing and enjoy your week and working on the house.

Love your mugs. Love your Om Dragon and love the pretty face you did. I have never heard of Gamsol but now I see what a difference it makes I am going to find out more about it.
As for the smile.... our cultures might be a bit too far apart or I am just thick but I don't get it. I see a person in a disabled buggie going to the shopping mall. A very common sight in Europe. Am I missing something?
Never mind. I m looking forward to seeing the progress on the house (as we are building too and i probably know how you feel)
Happy T-day
Thanks for visiting already,
Lisca

Lovely art work!! and that is a pretty wonderful face for someone who 'doesn't know how to draw faces!' I think you're doing very well! The dragon is spectacular...I think the background turned out beautifully and makes the dragon stand out. Happy T day!

Hey Jinxxxygirl :D How on earth can you say that you can't do faces?! Your girl is gorgeous and wonderful and her hair is awesome!! :p
I too have different mugs/cups for different moods and/or drinks. Drinks taste different in different vessels I find.
And last but not least, your spooky postcards are fabulous! Simple, but ever so effective.
Happy Happy T Day :D xo

Great idea to trace a cookie cutter for a leaf shape! Your Om Dragon looks like he was soothing to color, and your postcards are suitably spooky. Hang in there with all the home repairs, and have a Happy T Day. :)

Fun art! I have only ever drawn a couple faces and always thought I would like to learn how, too. I should probably try that this winter. The leaves are perfect for this time of year and the gamsol really does make them pop! Oh, and no--I tend to use the same cup every day, but the type of coffee I drink changes--LOL! Happy T-Day! :)

wow, i love this Dragon! your drawing skills are wonderful... and i so like the "flow" of her eyebrows!
happy t-day and rest of the week!

Your art is wonderful!!! I do love the Dragon the most he's just so darn magical as a dragon should be! Your face is good too. Faces are something you just have to keep at to master. Four years ago I couldn't draw a face if my life depended on it. SO I started practicing, watching YouTube and took a couple of small classes. The thing that helped the most was doing the 29 Faces in Feb. challenges. I used to do a lot with colored pencils and then got away from them. Your work is fantastic. I had to Google Gamsol and it sounds so much better than the solvents I used to use that would give me a headache sometimes . Can't wait to see the progress on the house!

LOVE the dragon...must have missed that post. When you mentioned favorite mugs...I absolutely have a favorite. Luckily I have 2 of the same...It was pictured in my t Tuesday post. I get a little miffed (at myself) in the morning if I don't have a clean one to use.

I've been thinking about trying Gamsol, so thanks for the info. Love what you've done with the om dragon and the girl is just fine. Faces don't have to look totally realistic. She has a very wistful expression that makes me wonder what she might be thinking.
