Sometimes.....

.....i swear i have a split personality.... I'am just one big conundrum....  Do you question that?? You don't have to look too far for proof... The two sides of me are always in constant battle with each other...... I'am a couch potato who wants to run.... a fat person who wants to be thin .......  I decorate my house with white walls.........

wall and ceiling are blue shock... bathroom turquoise
........i like earthy colors...... but have you ever seen my artwork??? Its bright, brilliant and full of life and color... yeah... thats the other side trying to come out....... When it comes to home decorating i keep her firmly under control.........

up at the top is Blue Shock...around the niches is Simply Purple..do i leave the niches white?

.......until now.......  I have opened the door a crack to let 'her' come out to play... I let her loose in the bedroom.... who's gonna see that but hubby and i.... (except hubs has been sending photos to everyone claiming ..LOOK what she's doing to me! )

Blue Shock and Turquoise

I do apologize for such crappy pictures... the lighting is terrible in there... the above pic is my walkin closet... its turquoise....

Yeah... i got the turquoise wrong on the first try... got it too dark... but we added white and i'm going around with another coat...You can see the dark around the edges......

I tell hubby to be brave.... I have plans to bring it all together... Remember its a beachy bedroom and bath.... Deciding to trim it out in white made him feel better.... kind of like an anchor while he's drifting around in all that color... I'm not sure about the white trim... It wasn't necessarily in my vision but it makes him feel better about it so we'll probably do it.......

The rest of the house will be white walls or its a color called DuJour....by Valspar...   Except for this picture above.... It is my front entrance way .... you know with the really high ceiling.... The butterfly pic is a piece of artwork I've been working on.  Its an example of the type of art i'd like to display on that wall... alot of oranges and yellow and red and i'd like the blue to compliment it..  Remember my suns i had on the wall in CA they are terra cotta and some copper...  Anyway i'd love it if you'd help me decide........

I hope everyone had an awesome week........ you know what i'll be doing.......painting painting painting.........Happy Tday my tea people.... I'm so glad you popped over....I'll see you on the flip side..... Hugs! deb

I am the same way and I blame it on the gemini sign. Love the colors you chose. Our Bedroom was purple one time and Hubby hated it at first and than one day he said he liked it. Can not wait to see it when everything is done.

I love the earth tones - in decorating - in what I wear - and even the quilts I like to make.....most of the time! Yup, once in awhile I think we all break out of our tight little shell and let loose with colour! I'm sure you will pull it all together and hubs will love it too.

I like the mug and paintbrush together. They compliment each other, but, at the same time, are a contradiction.

I am a white wall person. I like color, and have lots of it in my furniture, wall hangings, and decorations. They would all clash if my walls were any other color, I fear.

I'm sure your bedroom is going to be beautiful when you bring it all together. It's really darkly stunning right now.

Thanks for sharing your bedroom and closet, as well as your coffee with us for T this soon-to-be Tuesday.

OH GIRL! I LOVE the colors!! Your entry will be fabulous in that blue with all you accessories on it!! You should do a LARGE butterfly painting, like your drawing for that space too!!

I have painted my walls MANY colors over the years....the closest I have to white is an antique white bedroom......LOL! Mostly the earthier tones, except for the craft room....it started out as Merlo...then had to sponge some lighter over it....just too dark. Still don't care for it, but too much junk in here now (with Bob's office in here too) to re-paint.

I think the Blue Shock and Turquoise are gorgeous together, we prefer darker bedroom walls.....it's just the two of us that see it.....er....and the GDs!

Keep up the great work, can't wait to see it all pulled together!

wonderful Header! i had to grin when i saw your first photo and thought: does she paint the pc now, too?
i only have single walls in Color (terracotta red in the Dining room, a dark denim in one of the Kids´rooms) - it´s mostly because i like to Change my art hangings (i have a Picture slat near the ceiling to avoid all those nails) - and White is the best Background in this case. but i´m curious to see your finished rooms!
happy t-day!

Love love love the color!! I hate white walls and have lived with them too long. The last time I painted I added a hint of pastel teal. This time I am going several shades darker. We have a lot of wood in our house. We put up barn siding on lots of them when we moved in. Stained it light and varnished. I love that look...kind of like the Ponderosa. I HATE earthy color. I don't think there is one thing in my closet that is brown. The funny thing is, Terry is always arguing with me about colors in our decor and he is COLOR BLIND...for real!! But he says that's why he can see birds better in the trees in winter than I can. It IS strange that you can create such wonderful colorful and vibrant art and that it doesn't follow through in your clothes. Wonder why?

Have a great time painting. I have to wait until we can open the doors. I worry there might be smell to bother Terry's COPD.
xx, Carol

You go girl- LOVE the colors!!! And that it's going to have a beachy theme makes it just perfect! Great sunny warm colors for the living room too, and your butterfly is beautiful. Have fun seeing it all come alive as you paint on lots of color, and a happy T day!

Blue is always the right color in my book and you've picked some gorgeous ones!
Your paint stirrer looks like a work of art to me.
I can almost hear the soothing waves crashing.
Enjoy * Enjoy as they look fabulous already.
Happy T Day to ya Deb oxo

Oh good grief, it is beautiful, go for it, it is only paint!! LOL I would do the white trim and white niches and go for pale painted furniture just so that it all stands together. Whatever you decide, it will be wonderful. Happy T Day to you! Annette

I love those blues! And how can you go wrong? You can always re-paint when you're ready for something else :) Happy T Tuesday!

I know all about the 2 sides, but looks like you are letting the artist out-even if its just a little bit. The older I get the more my art gal gets out...which I guess is a good thing. And I know about being overweight and wanting to be thin...life just simply isn't fair sometimes, is it? Happy T day! :) Erika

I love the colors!!! Can't wait to see it all done and I love the butterfly painting :) I'm that bright and bold person all the time....the hubs isn't so it is a battle some times.

I wish I could get my hubby to agree to bold colors. I want to paint to bathroom something bold...but he won't agree. I know I could just do it but I really don't care to hear the complaining. :)
I love that you are going bright and bold at least in one small area...it may start to seep out into the rest of the house...who knows!

In the end you will be pleased with all the colors - I have a green sleeproom and an orange living room .. I like color too! Good luck with all that - we have nearly finished the new bathroom ... oh my gosh - so much work... but all is wonderful in the end that is the best!
Happy working!!!

Well I think they're exquisite, but I have to say I'm not that brave. I'd love to be, but the nearest I've ever come to coloured walls was a red dining room, when we were living in Qatar (in a rented house) I wanted to have a go and thought it would be fun. I admit I did like it, but since then I've gone back to white.
All my colour is in furnishings, paintings and accessories. The walls are a blank canvas. Very boring compared to this Deb.
I feel for your hubby, but think these colours work beautifully. It's probably the initial shock value, but it'll settle and he'll love it. Tell him it could have been pink!!!
Have fun and don't forget to rest now and again.
Happy PPF to you

Wow and pow! What a sock of color. The turquoise and blue are gorgeous. And the top photo of the paint sticks on cans is a work of art you might be able to sell to Valspar ;-) I think white trim and other light touches are a good idea. They'll complete your beach theme - think sand and seashells.

I love your plan for the entryway too. Isn't it fun to finally be to the artsy part? you're almost "home."

Hi, I am catching up on my blog reading today as a break from my hand sewing. I have never liked white-not even in making quilts-can't say why but I just never liked it-off white, cream etc is ok but not just white in anything.White is in nature but for me I always need to soften that white-too bold for me I guess lol
I always figure when you make it to the painting phase during reconstruction projects-than you have made it to the fun part-and almost finished. So you nust be thrilled to have reached the painting phase.
I never minded painting actually I always enjoyed it except now getting older the ceilings are really difficult. anxious to see how you pull it all together-I know my hubby would never approve lol but it all gets softened up with drapes and furniture pieces. and it's only paint after all-can always be softened later if need be
enjoy!!
