ImprompTu Roadtrip..........

You know what they say about all work and no play.... Well this roadtrip felt more like work than play but at least it wasn't working on the house... From the pics can you guess where we went???

If you guess Texas ... your RIGHT!  The roadside was full of flowers... maybe not at their peak but still beautiful...

I can just imagine the looks i was getting from passing cars as i stopped to get this photo for my 'Tea People' over there at Elizabeth's and Bleubeard's... Those are Primrose flowers......

Here we stopped at a roadside park. All these photos were taken with my phone so i apologize for their quality... As you can see above it focused on the background and not the flower i wanted to show you...grrrr.... That is a TX Mountain Laurel by the way and no kidding they smell just like grape Koolaid... :)

Our trip ... quick as it was... 3 days ...one to drive down , one there, and one to drive back... 10+ hours each way...uuughhh... Was successful.... Hubby got it in his head a little while ago that i needed to have my little blue car back...Its a blue Ford Focus ..oh about a 2002 or so... good little car...dependable , never gave us any problems but we decided not to take it CA with us when we moved there 4 years ago so we left it to my MIL to use...She has since passed and it just sits in a barn so..... We'll see.. it needs some TLC and we'll either keep it or sell it... We also managed to get together with a few friends and family . So all in all good trip.

I wish i could say the bedroom is a done deal.... BUT its done enough that we could more some furniture back in and put the fan back in...etc... Still working on some trim... Who knew trim took so long... cutting it, painting it...caulking it..painting over the caulk...uuughh... But the bedroom is close and computer room/office is close, then we paint the guest room...

Hubs is making some beautiful window sills... larger than the originals so Jinx can comfortable fit his butt on there and i can put a few things on the window sills like i like to do...Yes Jinx and i will have a discussion about that and i'm sure he will see my point of view that he better not knock anything off and if he just won't listen to reason there's always Earthquake putty...lol Happy T day my friends! Hugs! deb

I've never been to Texas, but I've heard the wildflowers are gorgeous there. I hope your car is serviceable with little work. Happy T Tuesday!

Looks like you had wonderful weather, and despite the amount of driving it's nice to have broken up the monotony of renovating. Yeah, I can see the looks you may have gotten and all for us:):) Your home is really coming together-just beautiful Deb. Happy T day!

I do envy you those exquisite wild flowers Deb. And lovely to see that parts of your house are beginning to look and feel like home. Your first letter has arrived - thank you for it - hope mine has too. I shall answer it in a couple of weeks or so.

I am SO sorry I'm late visiting, but I'm having computer problems again. It was SO good to see you had posted, and of course, I knew exactly where you were. What I mean is, what State you were in. Lovely photo, too.

Those are primrose? I picked a few up on the side of a back road in MO one year, and they are everywhere in my yard although they have not bloomed here yet.

I hope the car turns out to be in good shape. Be sure to check all the rubber parts, which seem to go first.

Wow, that bedroom is coming along nicely. Seems both you and Lisca are finally able to call most of your houses HOME!

Thanks for sharing your drink that got lots of looks with us for T this Tuesday. And thanks for sharing the bedroom, too.

I bet it was nice to just get away from the house for awhile. You must feel like it has been your life for months! I would love to see those fields of flowers!

No posting for me this week on my blog - I'm down with a respiratory bug - I'm thinking I caught it visiting the nursing home where I do my pastoral care visits but who knows.

Okay, your break is over - back to work!

I see all these comments about how nice it was for you to get away for a bit while I was thinking ....ACK!! 10 hours there and 10 hours back and all done in 3 days!! Glad you got your car but that's a lot of road in such a short time.

Your bedroom looks great so far...that trim work always does Terry in and takes him forever to get it done. Love the color too!!
xx, Carol

The bedroom colors are stunning! I love the aqua purple combo. It sounds like you're heading into the home stretch - at least for phase one of you renovation.

The coffee cup among the wildflowers made me giggle once you explained it. At first I thought it was litter!

Looks like you saw some beauty along the way on your travels. I love that your hubby is making a wide window sill for Jinx. :)

Can't help feeling Deb that blue is your favourite colour - decor in your house, blue sky in your photographs.
The man I spoke about in my post today is a prominent politician who tried a dating agency and formed a relationship which lasted for six months until he found out that the lady in question was a dominatrix. Now he is being hauled over the coals for it and has had to resign from office.
