Life.............

Life..........marches on doesn't it... ups and downs... the good days and the not so good...  but i have found that as long as i keep a little bit of art in my life I can get through the bad a little easier... you?  Above is the clam picture colored with Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol... If i could do it differently i would not put the black circles on the bottom half of the clams... i would have left it a solid color... I find it too distracting..  but hindsight is 20/20...

I hate my printer.....On the left is what printed out. If you enlarge it , you can see the streaks... On the right is after i recolored what came out of the printer... I shouldn't have to do that... But at least it was still usable as a card after i colored it......Thats a card on the right with a pretty scrapbook paper as the background... AND your getting a glimpse of Christmas present from hubby... a full set of Prismacolors!!

Above is what's been going on this week... digging ditch to rerun some drain lines.... sigh.... we knew this was coming but sooo dreaded it... another week and we'll be passed it 'knock on wood' but just not fun times.... woke up this morning to frozen pipes (clear now)...sigh.... sure will be glad when this 'rough patch' is over... funny how 'rough' times or 'bad' times all seem to come at you at once...
And then lo and behold the sun will come out again... Like this little bright spot from my friend in Tx..... she sent me a kitty mug for Christmas.... AAAaawww... All you stopping by to say hi brightens my day too...

Time to shake off the blues and get back down there and sand in my craftroom...... theres only one way thats getting done.... and thats by working thru it... Happy happy T Tuesday everyone... I'm a little early but i'll be around when the kettle whistles... Hugs! deb

Oh the joys and trials of renovations! Sorry you are having the trials right now but hopefully they will be short lived. It's very, very cold here in Ontario right now -25C (13F) and with the wind it feels even colder. I went out to feed the birds today and when I removed the plastic Niger feeder it cracked. Rats. Luckily Joe found another one in the basement but it wasn't for Niger seed so I had to switch them around. The birds do not like this. It will take them a couple of days now to get used to their food being in different feeders.

Love your sketch - as always!

I have had the blues a bit for the last few days Debs, but-as you say - they pass and then you are pleased that you weathered them.

Oh yummy, a full set of Prismas! I've had a full set for years, bought them over at San Louis, when NOTHING was available around here......probably 20 years ago!

I like the black dots on your clams.

Hope all your plumbing problems have been resolved by now.

We are finally getting "RAIN"!!! and quite a bit of it...yeahhhh! Downside is, DH doesn't get the loads when it rains........so he is at home, and since we share this bedroom which is office/craft room it can be aggravating. He seems to think I want to talk while I'm creating....LOL!

I was just getting ready to do my T-day post, so I'll just sign off with a Happy T-day!

You were early and I'm so late saying happy T day for last week and ththanks for visiting my blog. Ooo all those Prismacolors what a great present. I bought myself a set years ago but every time I use them the leads are so broken that I've sharpened them to a stub before I could use them and only recently found out about microwaving them. Hope yours don't need it.

We're cold and wintery too. Brr. I love your clams. They are lots of fun. We have a saying here in New England-that you're as happy as a clam at high tide. Maybe people say it elsewhere. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

Prismacolor is my favorite brand of colored pencils. I discovered them when my kids were little, and they were the perfect thing. I still keep some around, even though I'm not much into creative arts. Happy T Tuesday :)

I think we all get the blues especially in winter and how right you are to say that a little crafting keeps your mind away from worries. I liked the photos and your collie dog looks an interested spectator. our would be doing exactly the same.
Your new mug looks fun perfect to cheer you up and give a smile.
Happy T Day

wow Deb- your illustrations are absolutely fantastic!! And I hear that those pencils are the best-what a great supply of colors. Ugh-nothing like having to deal with frozen pipes and such. Good thing you have that cute kitty mug to make you smile. Here's to better days ahead, and a happy T day too!

I like that mug and know you must be thrilled with the new art supplies. As for frozen pipes and digging ditches? May it all be over soon!

Sorry I'm late visiting. My old computer had a major meltdown, and I had to reboot it twice in order for it to run again. I was able to visit a couple of people, then it went out again. I gave up and went to bed. I'll be glad when I get my new computer back.

I have noticed that unless you print in "best" mode right after you change to a new print cartridge, I get lines, too. This happens all the time to me, if I forget and leave it on draft mode. But you did a fantastic job with the colors. And, although I've never owned any of those Prismacolors, you got a fantastic gift from your husband.

It's been super cold here, but is supposed to warm a bit today, then back in the deep freeze later in the week. I'm already SO tired of winter.

Plumbing can be SO difficult. I hope it's all fixed now (or soon), because there are not many things worse than that.

Bleubeard, Squiggles, and I all love your new mug. It's adorable. Thanks for sharing it (and your art, too) with us for T this Tuesday.

Life does have a way of ganging up on you sometimes doesn't it.
Hope things keep looking up for you Deb and Happy days are here again.
Sometimes I have to take an alcohol wipe and clean the roller sheet inside our printer.
Seems leaky printer cartridges leave streaks that make me crazy.
We had to change the replacement company for the ink cartridges.
Happy T Day Deb oxo

Oooh, the big box of Prismacolors. And I like the way you colored the clams. I love your kitty mug! Streaky printer. Sounds like the nozzles need to be cleaned. Check your printer guide, there should be a way of cleaning them. Frozen pipes are a worry during bitter cold winter months. If we know the temps are going to dip well below zero, we let water drip from the faucets to prevent freezing. Here's to warmer weather and a Happy T Day

Oh frozen pipes sounds awful! Keep your chin up...things have only got one way to go now...UP!! :)

Just popped back to say your PC is laying on my desk, will try to get it in the mail today.

Oh the joys of renovations! My husband is still working on the house but at least the living quarters are done. I'm very lucky that my hubby is very good at plumbing. I hope your drain saga will be sorted soon and that the pipes have been insulated so that they won't freeze again.
A full set of Prismas! I am impressed. I have never owned Prismacolours. I love the way you did those clams. (incl black spots)
I think we all have printer woes. The colours are never as vibrant as you would like them.
Keep smiling! You're nearly there.
Belated happy T-day,
Hugs,
Lisca

You're not kidding, when it rains it pours-bad luck at least! But glad you are keeping your perspective and enjoying some art time...what a lovely card!! and indeed, a very cute cat mug! happy T day!

What a thoughtful wonderful gift from your hubby. It's so nice that he encourages and appreciates your art to the point of letting you pick wild wall colors and room themes.

So sorry for the pipe problems. Why couldn't that happen in milder weather?! There's good reason for the saying, "It never rains; it pours." It'll feel so good when you get past all this!

I got the darling little flying clocks and think I wrote some printer tips in the letter that is winging it's way to you;-) There's also a postcard on the way. I hope they arrive soon, 'casue you need some smiles from your mailbox. Hugs, Eileen
