T Stands for Winter Wonderland.......

Last week Mother Nature reminded us that Winter was not quite over.... and if you've known me for any length of time at all you know that i was over the moon happy about it!! It was only an inch or two but what  a Wonderland it was... I dragged hubby out for a walk in it...AND we popped over to the neighbor's to declare a snowball fight war...I wish i had taken more photos... It was so much fun... Then we came inside and i made hubby hot chocolate...lol
See, i have been very fortunate in my experiences with snow... I have never had to be an 'adult' in snow... I spent alot of my childhood in the NJ, PA area and then three years in Germany in my early 20's... but i have never had to be the person that had to scrape off the car or dig the car out and drive to work in it... I've always just gotten to play in it.. I'm sure if i had to deal with it every year and go to work in it i would feel differently... But for me... snow makes me feel like a kid again.......

Today you wouldn't know it had just snowed last week... Today it is pushing 80 F and its muggy humid... a breeze blowing really saves the day but even so its on the uncomfortable side... Above is a PostCard i made for Krisha... Again using some of my stash of magazine clippings.. The flowers across the bottom were punched from a clipping of eyeshadow colors in a magazine.  The little gnome was stamped and i painted him with acrylics..I was surprised how well he came out..you know usually i use colored pencils...

And this is another PostCard i made... this one for Eileen... using magazine clippings... the girl i think is from an air freshener ad and the 'flowers' are eye shadow color palette ..the background and flower stems are acrylic paint.... the flowers have glittery Wink of Stella pen on them......

This is the back of the card.. using some stamps and washi tape around the edges......

In the middle of making this post i realized i didn't have a drink photo to share with my T people... so .... i thought i would take a little creative license and share with you 'another' tea party.. this one at my bird bath... Meet the 4 Brother's Grimm... You can tell by all the green that this was taken last year.. Shortly we will have been in this house for two years and 4 crows have always been with us.... only ever 4 ... at first i was worried they may bring their friends... there is such a thing as too many crows...lol  But these 4 show up a couple times a week and i always love to see them come... Yes they take over and eat everything in sight and scare all the smaller birds away but they visit infrequently and never stay long.. so i welcome their visit....they have become like old friends.. they are such smart birds and its can be difficult to get a photo so i was overjoyed to capture this one of all four of them together.. My Brother's Grimm....... ( on a side note.. you know i have never seen them take a bath just drink from the birdbath ) I hope it will serve as my drink photo this week... If you haven't yet be sure to stop by and visit Ms Elizabeth and Bleubeard's and join the T Party! Hugs! deb

I LOVE crows. I have 3 crows...always 3. Sometimes a Murder passes through, but my three stay when the rest fly off. Or maybe mine hide from them...I don't know. I put bread and other food next to the driveway and I love to watch them strut around, one by one, choosing what they want and fly off. I love my crows so much that if I ever had a shop of any kind I would name it Three Crows.

Don't you wish you could listen in to the 3 Brothers Grimm tea party? I bet they're saying things like "Lenore" and "nevermore" - lol.

Thanks for bringing back fond childhood memories of snow - snowmen, snow forts, sledding, tobogganing.

"Stop and smell the flowers" is a good reminder for me. It's something I need to work on. I hope your pretty postcard arrives soon.

Happy T-day, girlfriend! Hugs, Eileen

Love your postcards...as always.

Not a huge fan of too much snow, which we certainly get here in Ontario. However, if it is just a nice soft snowfall, Joe and I do like to take a walk in it too.....but not the shoveling afterwards.

Not a crow lover but only because we have THOUSANDS of them here in Chatham-Kent. They move in around 5:00 pm in the winter to roost in the trees in the city where it's warmer than out in the country. Picture your card under a tree with a couple hundred crows above it. Not a pretty sight at all. I will agree that they are very smart though.

Wish we had your weather. I love the hot summers. It's still around the freezing mark or just below here but up to the 40's tomorrow, then back down again. Crazy weather.

Love the postcards, but I am not such a friend of snow - it looks pretty, but I am not fond of having to fight my way through it! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

Actually, Deb, this is the kind of T post I love. Birds getting a drink and having their own tea party is just the thing to make me smile.

Laughed at your snowball fight. It has been 90F here for two days in a row. Lots of wind and practically no humidity. I would have welcomed snow.

Your postcards are wonderful, and I love that you use magazine images in yours. That is fabulous.

Thanks for sharing your snowball fight, your postcards, and the birds having their own tea party with us for T this Tuesday.

Your artwork is so beautiful.

The weather sounds very mixed. We haven't had any snow at all this year at the NE UK coast-just lots of greyness and rain so we have wished it would snow and be bright.

Lots of crows nesting near to where we live and they make such an awful noise. We try not to put anything food out as also have flocks of seagulls and magpies as well and the little birds don't stand a chance

Happy T DAY

Love Chrissie xx

I could send you some of ours which is still on the ground if you want another fun snow day. I'm not finding it so much fun any more. :) Happy T day -hugs-Erika

I am happy for you that you got a bit of snow-and believe you me if I could send the piles of what we still have to you I would! Beautiful postcard art-and what a sweet gnome. Got a kick out of the crows tea party:) Lately I have had two huge ravens come by and just meander about. Fascinating to watch. Happy T day!

I love snow! We don't ever get much here, and I'd actually rather stay inside and watch it than get out in it, but it feels so peaceful :)

I enjoyed your crow tea party :) We don't get crows. Around here it's the mourning doves that are taking over lol

Happy T Tuesday!

Hi, I love the tea party!! that is interesting you just have 4 crows for a visit. We have crows too and I always enjoy their visits-never realized how large they really are til they came up close to the bay window last week.
Loving your postcard art, and glad you got enough snow to have fun in. I am from the upper midwest and have had some very difficult snow days for work and back-do not miss that at all. now retired I just enjoy the beauty of it-usually as no winter here this year lol
the guys went out fishing yesterday on the lake-they did not catch much everyone forgot about how the dams have not released their water yet-they don't usually do that til memorial weekend-so not much water where they wanted to fish.
Happy T day!

I love the idea of a snowball fight - I don't think my neighbours would take so kindly to that! Love your art, especially our gnome! We have crows at our caravan - they do a dance on the roof and wake us up!! Happy T Day! Chrisx

You can keep your snow. We got a foot in last week's storm. Heavy, wet, and not fun to shovel. Though it would have made a great snowman or awesome snowballs. I won't cry when it's gone.

Love seeing the crows at your birdbath. How wonderful they seem to have a ritual to drop in. Your gnome card is so fun. and your hot weather is the kind that sends me over the moon. Happy T day

So here I am doing a belated comment. We've been away for a few days for my birthday and the campsite did not have wifi or electricity (my laptop battery is knackered and I can use it only on mains power). We had a lovely few days with good weather. Thank you for the birthday wishes.
Oh what lovely postcards! And a nice 'backside' too with the washi tape. Cool!
A great photo of the brothers Grimm. And yes, I know what you mean by having too many crows. Four is just right.
Have a great weekend,
Lisca

Great fun, a tea party for crows! Lovely postcards you've shared too. Can't say I was happy to see the last snow we had, but it IS pretty to see!
