T stands for crafTroom, fawn and a bush......

Hi Everybody!!!!!  The picture in the header serves as my coffee for 'T' !!  The painting was done by my mother in law back in the 80's... i just love it... the play of light and dark just speaks to me...

Well at the beginning of the week there was alot of THIS!! and trips to the recycle center... But all of this has turned into the below...

Lets take a spin around the Craftroom... As you walk in the room the sink is on your right.. I stained the boards that you see on that little wall and the board that goes across the sink and sprayed the cast iron sink  that oil rubbed bronze... Jinx has already had a bath and he highly approves... I approve because i no longer have to kneel beside a tub to give him a bath.. :)

Lets just take a turn around the room....

Above is the door that goes on the closet with the hot water heater.. I'm patching and painting it... Hope to replace it one day with another 6 panel door like the rest of the house but thats down the road....

Continuing on around... thats the exit to outside door...

....and on around......still alot of picking up and putting away...

Hubs has made the window sills and the boards to go on that ledge under the windows...now i need to stain them......uugghh...

My corkboard is up on the wall ... the TV will soon follow..

These are the legs for the island... Look familiar??  They should .. they came out of the old kitchen ... repurpose/reuse... my motto... lol  They will be sanded some and painted that oilrubbed bronze..

Finally we've had a fawn in the yard this week... Its like we see them shortly after birth because they like to give birth in our hollow apparently but then don't bring them around for a month or two..

When its hot they go around with their mouths open alot.. The other deer can get rough so momma stays off by herself for awhile..  I know .. i know .. the state of my grass is horrid... But i live in the boonies...not in town and hubs and i decided with everything else going on we were gonna mow once a month this summer... so ya gotta give me until next weekend..lol

This is one of the twins from last year... i'm pretty sure... they all look alike...lol.. but look! he's getting his first set of nubbies!!! (horns)

And finally  i HAD to show you my bush... This is an Abelia and it is covered in blooms and bees and butterflies and hummingbirds... and it smells heavenly!!! It gets mostly morning sun and is shaded mostly from the hot afternoon sun... The deer have it eaten from the bottom but it continues to thrive.. I just love it.. So if any of those characteristics appeals to you i highly recommend it.. I give it no supplemental water... nor do i mulch it in winter... Just hasn't been time for that.. and it seems to thrive on my neglect... Happy happy T day everyone visiting from Ms Elizabeth's and Bleubeards....So glad to see everyone!!! Hugs! deb

The fawn is a sweetie! Hubs has been seeing one in the mornings along the long driveway on his way to the post office-I haven't seen one in the backyard yet.

Originally, I considered waiting until closer to T time, but got so excited when I saw all those boxes, I simply couldn't wait. This is going to be a fabulous art space when you are finished. I look forward to seeing what you plan to make with the bottles and ceramics.

Your mother-in-law is quite talented. It's a lovely piece and the fact it holds so many good memories makes it all the more important. I like your little vignette. I had to laugh because our dear friend Chris doesn't like frogs.

As soon as I saw those legs, I knew where they came from. SO 70s! They will go well in their new capacity, though.

Those deer are simply adorable. It's amazing they feel so comfortable in your yard.

I've never heard of Abelia, but I will check them out at the local nursery the next time I'm there. If it attracts bees and butterflies, I'm sold!

Thanks for sharing your coffee and T, as well as your MIL's painting, your nearly finished craft room, the deer, and your Abelia with us for T this week. I'm so happy you will soon have a space of your own you can craft in.

So excited to see the craft room coming together!!
The fawns are delightful and the bush (looks like a small tree!) sounds perfect. I bet the deer like it that you only mow once a month. Sounds rather practical, actually. :)
Have a great week!

Love the sweet fawns and the one with the budding nubbies:)
Wrote down the name of that Abelia cuz I think I need one if they thrive in my area. Happy T day!

Wow, your craft room seems to have come together so quickly and it's looking wonderful now you have started unpacking and adding you special touches 😀. The little fawn is so cute and it's so lovely to see one of the twins from last year too. Your painting is beautiful and the play between the light and dark your mother-in-law has created is amazing. Wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊

It looks like you have a lot of usable craft space. Nice!

I'm not seeing a lack of mowing but a meadow! I'm sure the deer appreciate it :)

Happy T Tuesday!

Your m-i-l was a very talented artist! I love the painting too, as well as the moss "T." I imagine you made it though I don't recall seeing it before.

Whoopee! A sink in your craft room and it's Jinx-approved. That's a win-wine ;-)

The long grass looks as it should IMO. That's because of all the wildlife you have and enjoy so much. The bush is lovely and that it thrives on neglect is wonderful! But I don't like bees!!

Happy T-Day, Deb! Hugs, Eileen

Your craft room is coming along nicely. I am still jealous of your space and having a sink in it too! And I am loving your blog header. The painting you mil did is really fantastic. I love the frog too. Perfect since you've been hopping right along on the craft room work. LOL. Hope its been a great T day. Hugs-Erika

You really have made such amazing progress - I'm not surprised you have left the grass! I expect the deer like it that way! I must say I gave a shudder at your new header - not for the lovely painting but because the frog made me start! ( I do not like frogs!) I will forgive you though seeing as you have shown those gorgeous deer! What a fabulous plant - the sounds around it must be wonderful! Happy T day! Chrisx
