T stands for..........

........some projecT updates...... You may remember this butterfly canvas from awhile ago... the camera really didn't handle the bright orange very well...  I finally got around to adding the quote..... its one of my favorites... If its not clear enough , it says, "What if i fall?  But oh my darling, what if you fly! "  I think it fits in with my general lack of self confidence over the things i make... sometimes that quote is just enough to kick me in the booty so i overcome my fear of failure...... 'What if i fly!'...

And.........i even have it up on the wall!!!  This is heading downstairs from the front door.. the door on the left leads into the craftroom... I hope to have that a glass paneled door one day..

Remember the green sticks....lol

Well they got shaded a lighter shade of lime green..... Above you can see it in progress....

The lighter area got treated to some glitter.......It doesn't show up very well i'm afraid.......

Reguardless of all the tips i read up on and no matter how careful i was decoupaging napkins was not an easy thing for me... They cut out fairly easily( i didn't separate the layers until after i cut them) but when gluing down it was difficult not to tear them.. I did manage it though...One great tip i found was to use saran wrap (plastic wrap) between your hand and the napkin while smoothing... Some more steps to do though so.... stay Tuned....

I'am well covered for the T party with my coffee cup in the header... my reshowing of the mtn dew can from last week and lastly the cherry coke zero... lol  Some weeks i cannot find one drink photo and others i have too many...  Happy T day everyone! I'll be by to visit!!! Hugs! deb

Your butterfly piece is amazing. I actually love it and the quote is really inspiring. I am going to keep it in mind as a new school year with lots of new challenges starts. Back to school always makes me a little nervous and I will think of that quote for confidence. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

I loved the butterfly, the quote and the beautiful colors you chose for the first painting. It is a beauty.

I also like the napkin butterflies, too. I never thought to use saran wrap to remove air bubbles, but I can see where it would keep the napkin from tearing too badly.

Yes, you have a ton of drinks this week, but I really, really LOVE that beautiful blue mug you shared with us for T this nearly Tuesday. Did you get to see the eclipse? Seems it was even closer to you than to me.

How wonderful that you used the same quote as Krisha and that she created her page using the butterfly napkin that you sent her - it must be kismit at work ... lol 😁. I love your brightly coloured canvas and the butterfly, the colours are amazing! You chose a wonderful place to display it too, it's such an uplifting quote and perfect for to read as you enter your craft room - I love it! Your other projects look fun, I can't wait to see what they look like when finished 😁. Wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊

Your finished work with the quote is lovely. Nice to have it displayed where it serves as a reminder. I often use waxed paper over my paper napkin decoupage. I run a brayer over the top of the waxed paper to get that napkin really pressed down. If you don't have a brayer a wine bottle works too.

I love that quote too, Deb. Maybe all creative people do. We're our own worst critics ;-) The butterfly canvas is lovely. Why did you hide it high up in the corner like that? It should be in a big bold frame so it can't be missed. How clever that you wrote words for the antennae!

I love what you're doing with the tiered shelf thingy. The lighter green is a lovely choice. When are you going to tell us what it was? A lamp base, a floor to ceiling display column, ... what?!

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

Years ago I decoupaged EVERYTHING. It must be making a comeback because my daughter just mentioned that she is using the technique on furniture. What's old is new again.
