Lets Take a Stroll Around the Craftroom.....

........but first i thought you might like to see hub's birdhouse in situ.... We used it to replace a falling apart birdhouse from the previous owners... I just love it.... no tenants yet though..

Remember the moon project???

Well its coming along..  I set myself back by trying to make the stars glow in the dark... The glow in the dark paint really muted the yellow on the stars.. i thought it would dry clear...um...no... So i've had to go back and repaint and reglitter..  But its close ... so very close.....I'll show you when its hanging..

Remember these guys??? Repair 101

Well there are three total and i'am on the last one! Woot woot!!

I'll show you when all three are done and dusted off...I'm close .. so very close... Woot woot!!

......now this is nothing new... Making flower pens is old school crafting BUT its new to me.. I have never made one.. But i want some so i'm trying to figure it out... According to YouTube there are several different ways of doing this... Hmmm.. stay tuned...

I acquired these wall plaques many moons ago at Lowe's of all places.. I love the genre and the warm color of the inner plaque area but I don't like how the insect doesn't stand out enough from its background and i'm not crazy about the frame which leans toward the greenish color... Got these for a 'song' when Lowe's had a sale at end of season..

So i painted the frame and insects black.. now i just have to figure out where to go from here...

Remember the seed pod tree??? Well i got all those suckers on there..... Thank Goodness i decided to go with a smaller tree than originally...whew... that could have been bad... lol  Okay but i'm not done yet ... A small copper bead is going in each seed pod.... Hmmm... should i try to stain the seed pods first or leave them natural and just a clear coat...?? decisions... decisions....

Stars.... does anyone remember i want to put stars on my bedroom ceiling???  Well that got under way... cause .. well.. life's too short and i need some stars in my life.. ...lol Now in the above pic ... can you tell that two of the stars are a darker gold?? Thats what i get if i don't paint the paper mache white first then gold... the brown color dulls the gold.. so.....

Yep you guessed it... I paint them white first, then gold

Then i put the crackle medium on and let dry then i've been putting Antique White on top... The results are much better in person.. i wish you could see...

And.... if you want to come over and play i have lots to share!!!

I'm staining hub's hat rack......

I'm a little disappointed

.... and trying to not be tooo disappointed... The stain did not take too well in upper left hand corner.... sigh... I've tried to add more stain but it just won't take it... I'm hoping once the clear coat is on it will look alright... bummer....

Been working on the snake... I've come to the conclusion this will be slow going... One ... i have all these ideas but i've never done it before so theres lots of trial and error.. Also trying to decide if i should make him Antique Silver with blue gems or Antique Copper with amber colored gems...  aaahhh the troubles of a crafter...lol

Then...... I know i know.. i said i wouldn't start another canvas until i finished Hubs painting.... I just couldn't help myself... I have lugged this canvas with me for years and when i took it out of the box here recently it was getting badly warped... I needed to do something with it... thats my story and i'm sticking with it...

I've been taking alot of crap for my design so far... lol   This is a big canvas... i don't know the exact size .. i'll tell you next time.. I've heard... 'they look like shoe inserts'... 'they look like period pad'... or a very quiet..'thats niiiice' ... lol The thick skin i've developed these past years is serving me well.. You just put your head down and carry on with your vision... Elizabeth you'll be glad to hear i think that i'am recycling... do you recognize them as security envelopes from junkmail?? Yep.. every single one..  I cut them into organic shapes and glued it down using matte medium..

In the finished piece you won't hardly know they're  there but they are... being recycled...  Why the security envelopes?  Two reasons.. One they will give me the smoother surface i'm looking for , for all my detail work and two its recycling... stay tuned

And last but not least is the state of Hubs painting..

Since you last saw it i got all these flowers put in.. This is only the first layer on the flowers but they are in!! Another layer of petals goes in front of these...

And i got all the little stone put in there in the bottom right...

If your still here............ here are some projects waiting in the wings that i haven't touched yet..  I want to woodburn some family names and hang on our Christmas tree...

I want to woodburn and stain this board and attach the little birdie faucet and have a crystal tear drop come out the end of the faucet...

And lastly..... i want to mosaic tile the balls on these post tops and put them out for some yard decor... Whew......I do apologize for such a long post... i know you have alot of T party visits to make... But if you made it to the end... Happy T Day all!!! I sure do appreciate you stopping by and commenting on what catches your eye.. :)  See you soon! Hugs! deb

Gosh, Deb. I am truly impressed with all the projects you have taken on. Seems a lot of them involve waiting for paint to dry, and you have the work space available to you that most of us don't have.

Have you ever used that floral tape? You stretch it as you apply it around the piece (in this case your pen and sunflower. Sorry if you already know this, but it never hurts to err on the side of caution when I am very familiar with a product.

I'm loving the seed pod tree. If you are going to seal it, you might want to do that before adding the beads, which will be dulled with the sealing agent. Personally, I would leave them natural colored. They are a beautiful color now.

You sure have lots of stars. I am sure the night sky in your bedroom will be perfect once you finish these.

Love your husband's bird house. It may be too late this year for tenants, but it will surely be ready for next year's broods.

Thanks for sharing all these projects AND your water with us for T this Tuesday.

Wow, you have been busy! I'm loving all your fabulous projects and your hubbys painting looks amazing with all the details you are adding - perfect 😁. So pleased that you have completed the seed pod tree and then I read you are adding a copper bead to each seed pods - you rock! I like the start of your new canvas with all the recycling and I can't wait to see what you do next 😁. I'm loving the insect frames too, are you going to add something to your black insects to show up the carved detail more, maybe a silver, gold or patina lustre? Those crackle stars are amazing too, and I'd be happy to help you out ...lol 😉 ... now I'm wondering what you are going to use all of those stars for? Your hubby's hat rack is amazing and I didn't notice the wood stain until you said as my attention was taken by the stunning animals you have burnt into the wood 😀. Sending you Happy T Day wishes! J 😊 x

I feel like an absolute slug next to you :-D I can only work on one thing at a time.Your projects are fabulous. Love your hubby's bird house. So cute. As to everyone being a critic, art is so subjective. The only one you need to worry about pleasing is yourself. i like your idea for the birdie faucet. Will look forward to seeing all the finished projects. Happy T Day

I love peeking into your craft room, Deb. I think you should call it your workshop or playroom though. It's an awesome playroom for all sorts of arts and crafts. You sure have a lot going on there.

The flower pens - I used to make them with BIC stick pens that you can pry the end off. I sent you a link.

A small copper bead is going in each seed pod? You've got to be kidding me!!! Good luck, girlfriend! It'll look stunning if you finish it without going blind or insane first - lol.

I'd love to come crackle stars with you. Your bedroom is going to resemble Van Gogh's "The Starry Night." It's my favorite Van Gogh and I love the song too ;-) While I'm there, you could teach me how to do wood-burning. You work is wonderful!

If yuou're accepting votes on the snake color, I vote copper. Love the spiget plaque idea.

I enjoyed every bit of this walk through your playroom ;-)

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
