Another Trip Around the CraftRoom.........

.......WorkRoom.....PlayRoom.... what does one call it?? Its a place where .... perhaps Piccasso said it best....

... For me its a place to 'just breathe'...

Do you remember my wreath??? Funny how some projects just come together lickety split and others linger... This wreath came together so easily...

.......and i  knew right where to hang it.....This is the spareroom... Remember that mirror i refinished... ?

...Now i have a lasting California memory ... as thats where i found the Cedar rosettes ... I had some left over moss from another project... I think it finished off the inside of the wreath beautifully..

Remember........... I finished gluing on all the seed pods???

Well then each seed pod needed a bead.....Now i didn't count the seed pods when i glued them on.... So i had no idea... BUT each pkg of beads has a number count so i have some idea how many i glued on.... Can you guess?? I was floored..... I'll put the answer at the end of the post..

Now after all that hard work i think she looks a little plain.... like it still needs a little something , something.. Any ideas??  The beads are copper... some dark and some brighter mixed throughout..  I don't want to give it a Christmasy feel as i'd like to leave it out all the time.. I need to put it on a wood base as the bottom row of seed pods likes to come off if abused..

Remember where we left off with hubby's painting??? (above)

This is where i'm at now.. The flowers are done...DONE baby!

Aaaannnd i blocked in the green where the leaves will go across the top.... Thats it leaves and the hinges and door knob on the door and she's done.. I've psyched myself out a little bit about the leaves.. How in the world am i going to paint in all those little leaves... But then how did i put all those beads in all those seed pods?? One bead at a time..... I'll take the plunge here soon...

Remember the post tops??

There's been a little progress on them too... The first glue i tried didn't hold them on very well so i had to peel them all back off and try again... uuuughhh...

There's been progress on the SteamPunk snake... Thats AirDry clay rolled out thin

Then i put it in an embossing folder and rolled my little rolling pin thingy over it walah!!  Textured clay...

Then i cut it up into little squares and rectangles..  and let it dry... One problem i've run into working on this snake : Its not like working on a canvas where its nice and flat and you can see where you want to put everything and how it will look then glue it down.. Working on the snake i need like 10 hands to hold everything on  so i can see how it will look.. I've kinda come to the conclusion i will just have to fly by the seat of my pants and glue things on and hope i get it right the first time... which is highly unlikely...
And if you've hung on this long i thank you for hanging in there... This is what happens when i take a week off from the T party.. lol I have too much to share.. Lastly i've been rearranging the 'CraftRoom' this past week... I've lived with it long enough to know i wanted to make a few changes.. Bringing my ceramics into play is one thing i changed.. Well Ms. Elizabeth and the T gang i will be around to peruse your Tposts in short order... I hope you've had a fabulous week.....I can't wait to see what you've been up to.. Hugs! deb

Psst... you didn't think i forgot did you??  I glued on approx 670 seed pods THEN  670 beads!!!! And to think i originally wanted a larger one!!! Craziness!

You have certainly been busy, Deb. Your wreath turned out great and your tree is unbelievable. 670 seed pods? You have spent a LOT of time on that project, but it is beautiful. It actually glows in the light of your craft room.

Don't you hate rework? I know I do. I use E6000 for projects like those tiles. It sticks to just about anything.

Your snake is going to be wonderful. I like the way you used the embossing folder. It is going to be a great steampunk inspired piece of art when completed.

Thanks for opening up your craft room to us again. I agree that it doesn't take long until we know when we need to change something that we placed in the wrong spot. I'm sure you have so much room in your craft room, you can find just the right spot for everything. Thanks, too for sharing your cold drink with us for T this week.

You have been busy-but I am glad to see the finished wreath. I love it. And it looks great. AS does the painting and all the other projects you are working on. Looks like you are having fun! Have a great early T day-and T day too. Hugs-Erika

Love your projects - 670 beads! Wow! They look great but...Wow!

I use E6000 for any really tough pieces that are hard to stick together and must stay stuck together. It smells but it works just fine. I used it when I was creating angel pins to make sure the little pieces stayed together so its good for big projects and small.

670--whew! Yes--one at a time. You just start. :) :)
Have a happy, productive week.

Your place to 'just breathe' - that's perfect, Deb. The wreath is beautiful. It's nice to have a CA memory on display. The wreath will be a conversation piece for visitors who've never seen cedar rosettes. They were new to me!

How about gluing a little birdie or two on that tree ... or a squirrel scrambling up it? 670 seed beads - holy guacamole!

I'm really intrigued by your snake an am confidant you'll make it really wonderful. (It's already unique.)

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

You have been a busy crafter again! And I get the bead thing because I happen to like little detailed things and would have enjoyed gluing on the beads little by little- so long as I had special magnifying glasses:) Happy T day!

Some really beautiful projects. I love how the wreath and the painting turned out. How do you find time for all these projects? they look like they could be very time consuming.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

Wow, I think you must have more hours in your day than I do, you have been so busy in your craft room. The projects all look fabulous and I loved seeing the wreath on your wall, it looks beautiful where you places it.
You also must have so much patience to add all those beads to the cone. I think I may have given up and added random ones.
Happy T day wishes.

All those seed pods and beads, that's a lot of glueing. Are your fingers stuck together? I like the piece of art you are creating for your husband. Looks like you are enjoying your art space.

Deb you are a wowser... all this projects are really amazing and you have proved your patience with the 670 seed pods and 670 beads! Unbelievable!
And the wreath looks really pretty on that wall with the mirror and the butterflies! The painting will be a treasure and I think as an idea for the tree - I would take just an orange bow on top or loosely tied round the middle?!
Your craft/art room is like a little paradise! A great header! Enjoy your paradise! Yes we must often rearrange our stuff - that's normal!
Happy T-Day
Hugs, Susi

Looks like lots of fun in the craft room. Everything looks great. I really love the painting for your hubby. Wow, 600+ beads! My count of 250 doesn't even come close. As to glue, one was recommended to me by a calligrapher/mixed media friend. She said the only glue she uses is Crafter's Pick The Ultimate Glue. it's non-toxic. On her recommendation, I used it to glue the earring bits to artwork I had calligraphed. Happy T Day!

I think the Picasso quote is wonderful and I agree with you, art helps me “to breathe” too :-) . Your wreath is lovely and you found the perfect place to display it, it goes so well with the mirror and pretty butterflies. Wow, that’s a lot of beads, my guess was 500 ... lol ;-)... well done and it was well worth all the time and effort, they finish your tree beautifully. If you want to add something, then maybe a little something on the top of the tree, depending on where you are going to display it like a copper sun or a heart (as it was made with so much love)? Your painting is so amazing with all the detail you have added and I love love love seeing all your wonderful projects too – busy, busy! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J x

Holy cow that's a lot of beads! but turned out very pretty! might look good with a coppery bow on top with trailing long tails twisting down the tree wire edged ribbon- I'm visualizing the very see-through stuff) just a thought. Love your painting, it's gonna be fab, and the wreath is beautiful- so many pretty things! happy T day ♥
